Red Stag gets LEED-CI Certification

Now it’s official. Congrats to Kim Bartmann and all the lovely folks at the Red Stag Supperclub on receiving their LEED-CI Certification—Minnesota’s first restaurant to be awarded with such a distinction. Working with Kim on the Red Stag project was an incredible (and educational) experience for us here at Play. OK, enough talk. Let’s all head over there for some delicious Smelt Fries…

Love for sale

Well, it’s not exactly what you think. We’re talking about Smart Candle—a battery-operated, eco-friendly candle. This year we’ve partnered with Smart Candle to design their seasonal collections and the Valentine’s Day designs are now available at Walgreens. Don’t forget to pick one up for that special pyrophobic gal or guy in your life!

Good Food AND Good For You

Over the past year, we’ve had the pleasure of working with Kim Bartmann and her team on The Red Stag Supperclub—a new restaurant opening soon in north Minneapolis. Kim is known for creating groundbreaking dining and entertainment experiences like Bryant Lake Bowl, Barbette and The Fringe Festival.
The Red Stag continues that tradition by being the first LEED-certified restaurant in Minnesota. That means that every step of the design and build-out of the restaurant is certified as environmentally friendly.
For us, it means an interesting and educational project where we’re learning about extinct plants and animals, sourcing “green” production materials (of which there are still surprisingly few) and creating a logo that still makes us weep every time we see that poor, doomed Eskimo Curlew.
Check back for more work as the opening date approaches and please visit the Red Stag blog, where we soon hope to see photos of a huge metal red stag statue hanging off the building!
