A fun little twist on the holidays for our brand strategy collaborators at Tait Subler. And possibly part of our expansion into product development. Check back soon for more info on Play products, coming soon to a Walgreen’s near you (yes, for real…would we kid about something as HUGE as that??).

Good Food AND Good For You

rslogo.jpg

Over the past year, we’ve had the pleasure of working with Kim Bartmann and her team on The Red Stag Supperclub—a new restaurant opening soon in north Minneapolis. Kim is known for creating groundbreaking dining and entertainment experiences like Bryant Lake Bowl, Barbette and The Fringe Festival.

The Red Stag continues that tradition by being the first LEED-certified restaurant in Minnesota. That means that every step of the design and build-out of the restaurant is certified as environmentally friendly.

For us, it means an interesting and educational project where we’re learning about extinct plants and animals, sourcing “green” production materials (of which there are still surprisingly few) and creating a logo that still makes us weep every time we see that poor, doomed Eskimo Curlew.

Check back for more work as the opening date approaches and please visit the Red Stag blog, where we soon hope to see photos of a huge metal red stag statue hanging off the building!

Oh, how we messed with Texas

Seventh Street Yoga

Seventh Street Yoga is now open for business in Austin. The first yoga studio in the heart of downtown, Seventh Street offers a wide variety of classes for hard-core or beginning yoga students. We designed identity, website, promotional materials and interior space with a contemporary look and feel to fit the concept of an urban yoga center. Cowboys and big-haired ladies doing the double down dog. Oh wait…that would be Dallas.

Andrew’s brother wrote a book

Writing for Life | John D. Bessler

We designed it and Sara took the cover shot. Andrew’s brother, John Bessler, has actually written four books but this is the first one where no one gets killed. It’s about writing. If you write, or you’ve ever wanted to write or you think you might someday, this book will help you to actually do it. For more info or to order a copy, go to bottlecapbooks.com.

Rubinstein Photo

Sara Rubinstein Photo

Sara Rubinstein has been sharing our studio space for 5 years. She’s an incredible photographer, able to capture images that are consistent in their ability to express the spirit of her subjects across many categories. But mostly, she’s great people—easy to work with, easy to live with. We designed her new website, identity and promo materials. Now, if she’d only clean that scary-looking health food out of the fridge.

Swing in the office

Our plumber suggested installing a swing in the new office. When a Union pipe-fitter speaks, we listen.

Hey Culligan Man: We’ve moved.

Our new address: Play, 514 N. Third Street, Suite 105, Minneapolis, MN 55401

Map to our new office

We’re still located in the Warehouse District, but no longer in the back corner of an Office Building™ next to a secured door ominously named “The Chiller Room”. Telemarketers will be happy to hear that our phone number hasn’t changed.
